Network design fit for future growth of agricultural player

At a glance
An agricultural company with worldwide export embarked on a strategic growth track. The supply chain engineers of Lanark reviewed the existing supply network design to fit the company’s vision.
The challenge?
The existing supply network of an agricultural company no longer matched its strategic growth vision. The production locations and product mix did not fit the future ambitions and were therefore up for review.
Lanark’s solution
Having the right production locations manufacture the right product mix seems a natural thing to do. However, when your supply network grows historically, at some point you need to go back to the drawing table. That’s exactly what Lanark did. The team developed a digital twin model to optimise the current network based on product allocation, site capabilities, inbound costs, and other key factors.
Then the Lanark supply chain engineers developed different alternative network designs and, together with the agricultural player, selected the best option based on operating cost and various constraints.
Currently, Lanark is involved in implementing this most optimal scenario. As such, we make this change happen within the company and deliver the outcome our client was aiming for.
