Clear and clean expediting of parts at a global EPC player

Lanark streamlines daily procurement operations.

At a glance

Lanark took on the operational role of expediting orders to ensure a smooth order process for parts at a global EPC leader.

The challenge?

The supply chain department of a global EPC player lacked structure to follow up orders. Given the high number of parts involved in their manufacturing process, managing orders and deliveries was crucial to avoid disruptions, production delays and high costs.

Lanark’s solution

The Lanark team stepped into the daily operations and tracked orders for various projects, maintaining close contact with suppliers. How? The supply chain engineers built a purchase order (PO) tracker and introduced master data into the organisation. Afterwards, items were correctly identified and received in the warehouse.

The development of the warehouse management system (WMS) also played a crucial part in properly registering and tracking the goods receipt and goods issue. For several years different Lanark supply chain engineers have been part of the expediting team. By taking on these operational tasks, the Lanark team was able to identify process improvements and to lead new system implementations, together with the customer.

By responding flexibly to the needs of this global EPC leader, Lanark opened the door to further optimisation projects, such as the design of a new warehouse and the development of a planning and a PR-PO tool.

“The practical approach of the Lanark team not only led to structured master data and a smoother goods receipts/goods issue process. It also facilitated the identification of process improvements along the way, further streamlining the operational flow.”
