Pragmatic automation plans for production and distribution

The challenge?

This international food company developed a top-level investment plan with a focus on automation in production and distribution. However, these initial plans for the warehouse soon proved to be technically too difficult to implement.

Lanark’s solution

Not only did Lanark provide general project management, the team also developed an alternative, more realistic plan. This involved the automation of specific flows, tactical developments in the warehouse management system (WMS), and administrative automation and simplification.

Lanark designed and modelled shuttle racks, supported in the supplier selection, and managed the construction of these racks. Alongside, the Lanark team designed several system developments, including specification and testing.

Also, Lanark’s supply chain engineers performed job shadowing to optimise reporting and operational management files.
