Create clean and complete master data for Belgian brewer

To smooth the transition to SAP, Lanark supported a Belgian brewer in the master data department. The role involved defining a standard process, setting up clean and complete master data, and automating repetitive tasks.

The challenge?

In 2024, a Belgian brewer implemented a new ERP system. Unfortunately, a lot of master data was lost or incorrectly transferred from the old AS 400 system to SAP. Some master data was new and did not exist before the transition. Furthermore, the customer lacked a clear process to manage master data.

Lanark’s solution

When Lanark joined the master data team, there were no work instructions on how to execute the master data process. Lanark analysed the process and set rules to create new master data, correct existing master data and fade out obsolete master data.

Lanark developed written work instructions to ensure everyone follows the same steps and visually documented the new processes.

Lanark’s approach did not only allow the team to define a clear way of working but also to automate certain daily, repetitive tasks and to gain efficiency in their workflow.
